Ambience: The place is easily accessible from either the side street or Irving with an ample parking lot and great signage so you can't miss it. The baseball theme is used for the decor throughout the exterior and interior with grand wallpaper to the smallest details. There was only one family there when we arrived on a Sunday at lunch time. During our meal, a few people did come to order at the counter, but I was surprised how quiet the place was. Maybe when there's a big game, more people come since there are several nice TV screens showing sports. Service: It's order at the counter, but the service is excellent. We started staring at the menu overhead and right away, a cheerful employee offered us paper menus which was so much easier. We went away a free paces to review the extensive menu and found ourselves in the bar area so I took a pic of the bar specials. When another employee saw us there, she came over right away to serve us drinks. We weren't getting alcohol but I was impressed at how helpful everyone was. When we ordered , the employee let me know right away that my meal would take 20 mins. We weren't in a rush but were happy to be forewarned. She offered to bring out the salads right away to stave off some hunger. And although it was order at the counter, they brought the food to our table on beautiful bowls with reusable flatware. Food: neither of us were in the mood for a sandwich unfortunately. I suspect their burgers are the main star. But my sister ordered the kebabs and I got the half chicken. Both came with salads and I was quite impressed with them. My Caesar had homemade large bread crumbs that were crunchy and good if not overly seasoned with lots of freshly shaved Parmesan. The Greek salad was loaded with veggies including bell pepper, onions, olives, and even an anchovy! Unfortunately, neither of us were as impressed with our meals. Good but not 100%. The garlic bread was the best part which was flavorful with a lovely crunch and chew. Not overly garlicky but just a good flavor overall. Not too dry nor greasy at all. The coleslaw was also good in a standard sort of way. Creamy and crunchy. A refreshing contrast. However, I found my half chicken a bit dry. Not terrible just nothing to rave about. The bbq was poured on top not baked with it and was quite sweet without any depth or interest. So while it might have added some moistness, I pushed it off the chicken because it was too sweet for me. The rice was slightly firm and I would have preferred it cooked a bit more. It reminded me of Spanish rice which I happen to not enjoy. My sister's chicken kebabs were delightfully spiced but also far too oily so her bread was soggy from sitting on the oil. I dipped my dry chicken in the oil pooling on her plate which definitely enhanced my meal! Her potato wedges were drowning in oil which wasn't flavorful like that of the kebabs. I'd come again to try the sandwiches but wouldn't get the kebabs or the half chicken again.
Honestly, they could compete with any local burger bar. Food is outstanding. I shall try them again but hot damn. The scene and setting strikes like a local charbroiled grill except that they also offer a full bar. For the money you get quality and knocked to sleep if you can finish your meal. If you can portion, two meals are likely from that burger and fries.
Suchhhh good burgers and fries! Love that this place is in our neighborhood and is always playing the Cubs game. They also have a full bar and is a chill place to hang out. My wife also really likes their wings and the BLB sauce is super good
The Zeus burger is fantastic every single time. Great atmosphere around Christmas time :)
Came in for a quick dinner! Food is good - nice sports bar with indoor & outdoor seating. Graham central milkshake was amazing - I'm not a sweets person but it was delicious. Then I had the chicken pita sandwich which was mediocre. My partner had the burger and it was good. There seemed to be a lot of space open for a Saturday night so good place to come with a group. Would come back for ice cream etc.
I truly enjoyed this place. Very nice staff, clean & modern, relaxed atmosphere, fancy drinks without being a fancy place :) PARKING There's a little parking lot, so no need to worry about street parking VALUE Overall, I thought the prices at this place were very reasonable! $5 for a dog and fries? Perfect. SERVICE The waitstaff was incredibly nice and polite. FOOD Tried the corn nuggets, which were awesome! They were like fried elote poppers. Delicious and so unique!! I will definitely get those again. Two members of our party got the hamburgers, which were very tasty and cooked to order. One of us got the steak sandwich, which was also good. The fries were good! They are natural fries, which I prefer. DRINKS I really enjoyed the meal, but one of my favorite components was the BOOZY SHAKE! It was DELICIOUS. The key lime pie shake tasted exactly like key lime pie. It had a good amount of alcohol and real crumbles of graham cracker. The boozy shakes will keep me coming back, for sure. There were also some fun cocktails, but I did not try one. Sangria float? So curious about this one- it sounds delicious and I will certainly try it when I return. THE CROWD While there are places to sit, many people were coming in to grab food to go. There was a descent amount of people but nothing too crowded. Mostly people from the neighborhood. Perfect to me! FINAL VERDICT I definitely look forward to returning to this place. I'm really happy to have found it and it's a great addition to the neighborhood.
What a fun place! We came here for dinner before we left out of town last week. The location is decorated with Cubs stuff inside and out. I also appreciated the Cubs Jerseys lined up on the walls on the way to the bathroom. Whoever got them done knows what's up as they are either Beckett or JSA'd authenticated which means its the real deal. It was a Friday night around 6p and the restaurant was about more than half full as the staff were buzzing around taking care of everyone about their food or delivering their drinks. The place is 1/2 bar and 1/2 restaurant and while the menu may be a bit overwhelming, the variety is appreciated. Given I was going to be a on plane for 4 hours, I didn't want to go too heavy so I just did a Natural Single Burger and had an Old Irving Park beer to go along with it as it was a keep your pint night. Next time, I would go with a double as that patty is small maybe 6oz? The fries were good and seasoned well. I know it was a Friday night and all but the House and Freestyle felt like it was at a volume 11. It was hard to have a conversation during dinner but again maybe it was because it was a Friday night? The parking lot can fit about 15 cars or so but you can find parking along Irving Park if necessary. I'd come back here but maybe do carry out next time.
We live in the neighborhood and walked by so many times before the grand opening. It was popping, the place is very nice inside and the patio area has heat which is really nice! The staff was very friendly and we really love the way you can see the food cooking. We were excited to try the pull pork sandwich, hotdog, north side burger, and their signature BLB burger. We waited 25 min for our order and got home to eat. They mistakenly gave us the curveball instead of the BLB burger:( my husband was very sad but the curveball was ok. The burgers themselves were decent size for the price. Overall really good atmosphere, nice staff, and everyone wearing masks. We will give BLB 4 stars for that. Just make sure you check your orders before leaving the place if you order to go.
